Challenge
Vidient had multiple sales channels including direct sales, partners, and resellers. Each of these channels needed tools to effectively demonstrate the capabilities of the video surveillance software without having to do complex installations and integrations. The tools would be used in multiple settings and situations without a lot of advance training. The budget for developing tools was limited.
Solution Ames + Eames proposed and developed a Flash-based demo using video clips of actual violations that were detected in the field including data from other integrated sensors. The demo is capable of being self-running or user-guided, and provides an optional narration.
It gives sales representatives the ability to customize demonstrations for particular clients by selecting specific sample behaviors, such as loitering or tailgating through access control points, and system capabilities, such as notifications or escalation policies. The demo also provides training for solution partners and distributors, as well as giving them a fool-proof tool for customer demonstrations by using the self-running and narration options.
To stretch limited start-up marketing dollars the demo is also used in the self-running mode at trade events, and a version is available for online viewing.
